Do you really not see it?
Or are you too afraid to look?

Beneath the bookshelf of your heart
The musty diary
That you keep shelves apart

Sitting in the corner
A child’s dream
Waiting for you to look
Reminisce,
At what you wanted to be

Fearless, determined
To face and conquer
Moving on uninhibited
After the curve of your smile

Fearless of what may come
Heart beating ever so fast
Fingers tingling with adrenaline
However long it lasts.

A heart so valiant
A will so strong
The belief of another sunrise
When it set,
To make way for the stars
Appreciating,
How they shine brighter in the dark.

Do you really not see it?
What your heart looks at now?
A soul that once wanted to fly
Now caged in ridges…
