Love requires work.
It seems that we’ve become a generation that has fallen in love with ideas. The idea of love. The idea of relationships. The idea of success. But until we fall in love with the commitment, loyalty and sometimes painstaking effort that it takes to make all of the above ideas flourish, we’ll never realize them. The reason many of us never find that “real thing” or “real one” is because we aren’t willing to sacrifice, we aren’t willing to be alone for a season, or to hold and keep holding up our standards. We aren’t willing to face the fact that the ideas that we have about love and life are only as real as the work we’re willing to put in to realize them.
