Moon

The moon is out, round and full.
Bright against the dark night sky.
It glows my face as I gaze upon it and wonder.
Do you see what I see?
The same sky? The same glow? The same moon?
You’re so far away.
And that breaks my heart.
But if we’re looking upon the same thing at the same time, we’re sharing this moment together. Right. Now.
And so, maybe we’re closer than I thought.
The air is still, but then I shiver.
I break my gaze. I look away.
And as quick as it came, as quick as it went.
Our connection’s been gone.
And I’m cold.
