We stay in different cities and hardly ever meet. When we do, it is an explosion of pent-up passion subsiding into tenderness. We wrap ourselves in each other and let our fingertips absorb our smells to pulsate through us later. To keep us company in our aloneness the day after.
The smell so lingers
Next day on my fingers
Every single memory
Keeps me company
In the arduous day
That we must keep away
I diligently avoid water
I don’t take a shower
Just to make you stay
For yet another day
