The Portrait of Love
The snow flaked shed with lantern chains,
Lay a chamberlain on the gravel lane,
The way she wept! The worried face!
like she’s just escaped a monsters’ rage!
Far amidst the myrtle bush,
Stood a prince, dazed and lured;
Ready to shed off the shallow errands
The lavish assets, the 'precious' lands
Moved towards the lantern chains.
Then his eyes, fell on the wounded knight
Whom she hugged so tight;
Senseless he lay, she had no way
Till the prince helped her ride
To a tiny aid camp nearby
with the wounded beast beside!
Havoc took toll
upon the destiny’s call
the damsel’s hopes too ceased to crawl.
But, he lit the dark skies
with a solace that reminded
of a blooming sunshine
after the cold rainy night!
The moments of treasure
That nothing could measure
Moved on and on, until forever?
Right then, his forever felt too short to survive
while the knight had his wounds revived;
‘Thank God’, he whispered,
watching the lady smile,
Wished upon time,
Just pause for a while
To watch her smile.
Time to bid goodbye
The prince to side a thousand lies,
sunken eyes stayed alive,
somewhere in her beaming smile!
And she gave a final goodbye!
Years and days kept passing away,
The portrait of her shine
Was intact in his mind;
sheltered from the world
In hidden regimes!
