There should be a channel for good news

Just that. Good news.

Every time I watch the news my heart shrinks. My mind only sees danger and sadness. The world seems like a scary place, and I carry all those images with me for the whole day.

And I don’t think it helps. These thoughts and emotions get recorded in our brain, and put us into “danger mode”, unconsciously triggering defense mechanisms. They may be subtle, but they are there. We carry that feeling around with us, and it influences everything we do: “You need to find ways to feel safer”, they say, “anything can happen, protect yourself”.
No matter what you want to do with your life because fear and the survival mode have been triggered.

But what if we could spend some time every day watching a channel which only broadcasted good news? How would it be to see all the little miracles and the love many people put into their work, their life, their art, their relationships? A channel where you could see people saving lives, helping each other. It doesn’t even have to be something big; it is enough with little acts of kindness.
Our heart would get bigger in our chest. The mind will understand that the world is a safe place, and it would not feel the need to protect itself.

Feeling safe is a basic need. Only when we feel safe, love can flow freely and abundantly.

And I wonder what effect that kind of news, the ones that make your chest warm and bring tears to your eyes, would have. How much hope and inspiration would we feel when we leave home after watching them.

Love attracts love. Violence attracts violence. It is not magic, it is the level of energy and the thoughts one thing and the other evoke in us.

Let’s say yes to life. Let’s not be afraid.

Let’s heal from love, not from fear.
