You stared at the sky

A faint smile swept across your cheek,

You wondered if he too share this wonderful view

.

Faint stars fighting off the city light

Trying to remind people that

Life is much more than their busy night

.

You walked the lonely track, empty

Hoping he would come and take you

Back to another reality less bleak

.

The world is so vast

Of those places — so many you both haven’t mark!

But nothing can be done without clear resolve

.

How you lead your life

Should’t be determined by other people,

Even those closest to you.

.

Yet, you know obstacles won’t end there.

And for a while you won’t be capable of fighting the forces.

Neither will he.

.

Yet.

Note: Thank you for reading the poem. This is a poem made for P.S. I love you’s first prompt #forbiddenlove. This piece explore the ambiguity as well as the possibilities of a relationship when sprinkled with external problem: a love not accepted by those closest to the couple. Yet its main purpose is to serve as a reminder that the kind of life one wants to lead lies on his/her own hand.

Reading this, do let me know: What do you think happened at the end? I tried to make the ending open to the reader to decide.
