What do mornings, Mondays, and January 1st have in common?

They are new beginnings — be it a new day, week, or year. With the possibility of shedding our skin and starting anew, they inject our nerves with simmering motivation.

I’ll start waking up early tomorrow morning. I’ll join the gym next Monday. I’ll start my weight loss program next month. And well, who can forget the infamous new year resolutions?

It’s “rebirth” at a deeply subconscious level. If you messed up, today’s gone out of hand. But tomorrow offers a chance of redemption.

A terrible week? Next Monday offers the hope of a good one.

But why not today, this hour, or right now? Weeks, months, and years are after-all human constructs of time.

As I was chewing on this, a lightning flash of an idea struck me — something I had already been doing but never noticed.
