QuarkChain Bi-weekly Project Progress Report: Mar. 14 — Mar. 22, 2019
Welcome to the 27th QuarkChain Bi-weekly Report for the period from Mar. 14 to Mar. 22.
1. Development Progresses
- Launched the last round of testnet before mainnet to better test and demonstrate the fixed-supply token model and several new features;
- Dealt with a malicious transaction and fixed a bug in consensus；
- Fixed the nodes’ stalled issue when too many files were opened;
- Modified the redundant coinbase branch check in shard state;
- Shut down jrpc server properly when jrpc server context encounters test error;
- Improved our jrpc communication code to avoid blocking on each connection；
- Evaluated some options for performing third party code review and prepared the mainnet launch.
2. QuarkChain Guardian Plan Officially Released
QuarkChain Mainnet Singularity V1.0 will be officially launched on April 30, 2019. QuarkChain will be one of the first public chains which successfully implements high-throughput sharding technique in the world.
Guardian Plan has been launched to protect all community members’ interests and guarantee the security of QuarkChain mainnet with enough hash power. All community members are encouraged to apply as a guardian or vote for guardians through staking a certain amount of QKC. Elf Guardian expects to receive more than 300% annualized returns. Additionally, to show the good faith of QuarkChain team on the long term vision and mission of this project, QuarkChain foundation will match and stake the same amount of QKC during the Guardian Plan.

3. QuarkChain Announced the Official Open for Staking QKC for Votes
After constant development and test, staking QKC for votes officially opened. Users are allowed to stake QKC for receiving votes at the Guardian Plan page and earn the early bird rewards before QuarkChain mainnet launch. The Elf Guardian campaign will officially start in early April 2019.

Whitepaper Journal with Google ABC
Mar. 22, Dr. Zhou and Google ABC held Whitepaper Journal. Dr. Zhou presented proof of stakes work, a consensus that aims to harvest the benefits of PoW and PoS. Besides, he introduced irregular-program-based algorithms.
5. Upcoming Event
“POW’ER” Conference in Chongqing, China, Mar. 28, 2019
On Mar. 28, the leading blockchain information and financial services platform in China, Mars Finance, will host the “POW’ER 2019 China Blockchain Contributors Annual Summit” in Chongqing. The summit will recognize industry contributors who have persisted during the “cold time” of the blockchain society during the past year, and at the same time, launch a high-level dialogue on the topic of “2019 Hotspots, Opportunities and Challenges” to find the “key to the problem” of the blockchain industry in 2019. Dr. Qi Zhou will participate in the thematic debate on “From sharding, layering, and cross-chaining to view the evolution of public-chain technology.”
IEEE DAPPCON 2019 — Blockchain and Beyond
2019 IEEE International Conference on Decentralized Applications and Infrastructures will be held between April 06 and April 09. DAPPCON 2019 is to facilitate the exchange between researchers and practitioners in the area of Decentralized Applications based on Distributed Ledger Technologies, Blockchain and related technologies. Dr. Zhou will be one of the speakers and talk about Boson Consensus: A Decentralized, Secure, and Scalable Blockchain Sharding Consensus. We will also have a FREE training workshop on Blockchain Future Challenges and Solutions.
