We lined the dead bodies in the street, then burned them. It was the best we could do. Got dark by the time we finished. Tired, we walked about five leagues along the great ringroad. The smoke would attract attention and it’s the last thing we need. We sheltered on the topmost floor of a residential tower and sat there listening to the silence of the communicators. Woke up well rested, although some scars are difficult to heal. Scavenged the whole building for food and hydration pills and were lucky to find a good supply. Time to resume our search.
