About this document

This document describes several rules for the Atmos platform, as well as examples of prohibited content, activities, and actions.

This alternate copy is authorized by WarpLight, and replaces version 11 which was introduced on February 14th, 2023.

What’s new in version 15a

  • AI generated content disclaimer is now in effect and is mandatory for posts and comments that contain AI generated content

General safety

The internet is a very powerful tool and can be used in many different ways, helping us communicate instantly with others no matter how far apart we are. Given this wonderful ability, we simply ask that you help keep Atmos safe for everyone, everywhere. Please know that this document only provides a small sample of content or media that is not allowed on our platform. If you have a question about a specific activity, content, or other item which you feel may not be allowed, please contact us.

Moderation tactics

To enforce our platform guidelines, we reserve the right to automatically or manually invoke moderation tactics, such as content deletion, manual overrides, WarpLight Account violations, and more.

Violating any part of the Atmos Platform Guidelines will result in a WarpLight Account violation, which has up to three levels of action. To learn more about WarpLight Account violations, refer to the WarpLight Terms of Service.

To begin, the following items are strongly prohibited:

  • Sexual engagement of any kind with users under the age of 18, including actions with malicious intent that encourages a user under the age of 18 to use or switch to third-party applications or platforms for communication
  • Content or media containing child pornography or child sexual abuse material (CSAM), as well as the action of promoting or taking part of the logistics or transfer of child pornography or CSAM
  • Content, actions, or media used with the intention of blackmailing a specific person, even if the targeted person is not on the Atmos platform
  • Content, actions, or media intentionally intended to attack someone’s race, religion, culture, gender identity or sexual orientation
  • Content, actions, or media related to terrorism, including extreme threats to any and all human life
  • Content, actions, or media that encourages violence or illegal activities in the real world
  • Attempts to sabotage the Atmos platform, WarpLight, our infrastructure, our developers, or other critical assets of our operation
  • Serious and intentional death threats targeted at a specific person, even if the targeted person is not on the Atmos platform
  • Content, actions, or media that contains or encourages the action of suicide in the real world
  • Content, actions, or media relating to the logistics or sale of illegal durable or consumable goods

If you see someone performing any of the above activities, please contact us immediately, or use the reporting tools available in Atmos.

Depending on what is reported, we may escalate reports to official levels if we determine it is necessary.

Platform conduct

We ask that users maintain a civil, friendly attitude when on the Atmos platform. Listed below are additional rules that must be followed when using Atmos. If you see any rule being broken at any time, you can file a report using the reporting tools available in Atmos, or by contacting us.

Do not distribute AI generated content in any capacity without including a disclaimer. To prevent AI generated content from being mistaken as genuine, anyone who wishes to post AI generated text, images, videos, or other media from any generative AI system must mark the post or comment as containing AI generated content within the composer before posting. This allows users to hide all posts that contain AI generated content from the Atmos platform if they choose to opt-out in Atmos’ platform settings. This requirement will not apply to posts that only contain a web link, as it may be impossible to determine if the linked content has been AI generated, however, if the same post or comment includes AI generated content alongside the web link, such as an image or video, the post or comment must be marked as containing AI generated content. We strongly suggest adding the AI generated disclaimer to your post or comment when posting web links if you suspect that the content you are linking to is AI generated in any capacity. This will prevent your WarpLight Account from receiving invalid violations for that post or comment regarding AI generated content.

Include sufficient disclaimers when writing posts that include paid endorsements in any capacity. While the Atmos platform does not sell ad space, some Atmos profiles may promote certain products or services in exchange for currencies, physical products, digital goods, employment, personal benefits, or family relationships with a brand. The disclosure of paid promotion is required on the Atmos platform if any type of payment, item, benefit, or relationship is received from a brand for promoting certain products or services, and it must be mentioned in writing within the same post as the promotion with the disclaimer being placed at the top of the post so it is not below the “Read more” button. This disclosure is required by United States law, as per the Federal Trade Commission. The requirement for paid promotion disclaimers on the Atmos platform will be required globally. If you are promoting something you like and you do not have any sort of relationship with that brand in any capacity, a disclaimer is not required. Additionally, if you promote your own projects or hobbies, such as creative works, a paid promotion disclaimer is not required. For more information regarding what requires a disclosure and what does not, refer to the following article from the United States Federal Trade Commission, Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers.

When posting media that contains sensitive content, abide by the Atmos Sensitive Content Policy at all times. In order to preserve user safety across the entire Atmos platform, we’ve written a new policy that describes how we’ll handle sensitive content on the Atmos platform, which includes instructions for how users can safely view, distribute, and interact with sensitive content. Users must be over the age of 18 in order to enable sensitive content features. To learn more about sensitive content support on the Atmos platform, how to enable and use sensitive content, and how Atmos moderators will moderate sensitive content, refer to the Atmos Sensitive Content Policy.

Do not bully or harass other users with the intent to harm them. While we allow bold opinions on our platform (i.e. “hot takes”), we may step in if the content is reported, and we may take action if it contains content that is strongly prohibited.

Do not impersonate a specific user or business. This does not include parody accounts. We ask that you make it clear that the account is a parody by using the image, tagline, or biography features, and that you continue to follow our guidelines if you decide to run a parody account. We may take action on offending content or if the legitimate person or business contacts us with a takedown request.

Do not attempt to hack other users or our infrastructure. This includes malicious actions with the intent to disrupt or modify our services and operations. This also includes distributed denial of service attacks, also known as DDOS attacks. We may take action on WarpLight Accounts, devices, and / or IP addresses associated with such attacks, and we reserve the right to uphold any device or IP address bans indefinitely.

Do not encourage illegal activities of any kind. Depending on what is reported, we may escalate reports to official levels if we determine it is necessary.

Do not promote the distribution of malware with the intent to harm or infect another user’s device or our infrastructure. However, this does not apply to the distribution of malware if it is done exclusively for educational purposes. For it to be seen as such, both parties must consent to the transmission of the software at hand, and it must be transferred with extreme caution.

Try not to abuse any known bugs or exploits, especially those which may inappropriately expose data which may not be available under normal conditions. If we determine that a bug or exploit was abused by a user to obtain sensitive data (user data, passwords, email addresses, etc.), we reserve the right to pursue criminal liability.

Respect the privacy of user accounts. If you are blocked by another user and attempt to circumvent their choices with ill-intent, we may take action if it is reported.

Moderators reserve the right to modify, suspend, disable, or delete your WarpLight Account if any activities explicitly mentioned or implied in this document are performed by the WarpLight Account, following review by qualified personnel. Refer to the WarpLight Terms of Service for more details regarding your WarpLight Account and your rights.
