IOV team would like to thank everyone who joined us for the “Blockchain Solutions for a Changing World”

On October 17th, IOV organized a special community event and a panel discussion in Paris at The Village by CA, one of France’s highest-profile startup hubs. Focused on “Blockchain Solutions for a Changing World”, the event brought together interested people from the worlds of finance, academia, and government to further the conversation around the ways that blockchain-based solutions could bring meaningful change to the people around the world.

Roman Roy (GreenWez) Yazid Chir (BeBound) Karim Ganem (IOV) and Francois Stephan (BeBound)

The panel featured Francois Stephan, a senior executive with Be-Bound, a mobile optimization company focused on bringing mobile and IoT coverage to 95% of the world’s population; Benjamin Clair, whose BetterChain startup enables consumer-facing brands to find information about the origin of their products via a decentralized, blockchain-secured marketplace; and Romain Roy, founder and CEO of Greenweez, Europe’s leading online distribution platform for natural products.

Francois outlined the transformative benefits of Augmented Connectivity and talked about how blockchain can unlock new transactional possibilities for people in vulnerable communities, many of whom do not have access to a bank account. IOV and Be-Bound recently announced their agreement to bring together Be-Bound’s Augmented Connectivity and IOV’s blockchain simplification process, to enable the deployment of applications tailored to less-connected areas of the world.

Benjamin and Romain focused on how blockchain could transform supply chain management in their respective industries. In discussing BetterChain’s experience with natural resource supply chain logistics and regulations, Benjamin spoke about the benefits of building trust and enabling consumers to connect with distant communities in a secure, independent environment with blockchain technology. Romain expanded on this theme, suggesting that blockchain could make any supply chain simpler and easier to manage while adding traceability and transparency throughout.

From green products to mineral supply chains management to mobile payments, the key takeaway from the evening was that blockchain offers potential solutions to previously insurmountable challenges.

The event also featured a keynote speech from IOV co-founder and CEO, Karim Ganem. Karim detailed IOV’s vision for the Internet of Values — a new ecosystem where everyone has equal access to the world’s digital values.

The key to the debate was to provoke a thoughtful discussion with our passionate community and blockchain newcomers alike. We were glad to see and participate in such considered conversations with all of our guests at the networking reception after the panel. This is key to IOV’s mission; We want to bring leaders and experts from industry, government, and non-profits together to surface exciting new ideas and discuss real-world applications of blockchain technology.

The event was a major milestone for IOV and we are planning to host many more events in the coming months. To keep up-to-date with IOV’s latest news and announcements, follow us on Twitter and ask us any questions on our Telegram chat.
