#1. f.lux (Free)
If you use your Mac at nights, I highly recommend installing f.lux, which increases the warmth of your display colour i.e., makes it yellow-er, thereby lowering your exposure to blue light.
(f.lux exceeds the limits of native macOS’s Night Shift.)
This helps reduce eye strain and supports production of Melatonin, the sleep hormone. So you’ll find easier to sleep after you put your Mac away.
Also, you can
- schedule timings for changing warmth of the display,
- or leave the job to the app which does it based on your current location.
