extraTON is an easy-to-use Chrome extension that you can use to create and manage your FreeTON wallets. We review the process of installing extraTON and creating a wallet.

extraTON installation

You can download and install the extraTON extension from the Chrome Web Store:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/extraton/hhimbkmlnofjdajamcojlcmgialocllm

Click “Add to Chrome”, and then “Add extension” in the popup that follows to confirm the installation.

Creating a FreeTON wallet

Once installed, click the extraTON icon (blue crystal) in your extension bar. You might need to click on the puzzle piece shaped icon firs.

This displays the extraTON main window.

Click “Create New Wallet”. This will display your 12-words seed phrase.

Write it down carefully and put it in a safe place, as if your life depended on it. Be sure to never loose it, and never let anyone see it. LOOSING YOUR SEED PHRASE = LOOSING YOUR FUNDS FOREVER, AND NO ONE — NOT EVEN US — CAN RECOVER YOUR FUNDS.

Also, beware that closing the extraTON window (for instance by clicking on a page in the background) and reopening it will generate a different seed phrase.

Once you’ve written down your seed phrase, tick “I agree” and click “I securely saved it”.

That’s it, you’ve created your FreeTON wallet !

Accessing the wallet address and public key

You can use the icon left of your address to copy your address to the clipboard.

You can access your public key by clicking the three vertical dots on the top right and then on the cogwheel next to your address.

This key can be copied to the clipboard using the icon at the right.
