At the National Retail Federation, we love to try new things. A culture of experimentation can be unique in the world of trade associations and advocacy organizations, but not in the industry we serve. Retailers are savvy and innovative, and emulating our members’ penchant for intelligent risk-taking, intellectual curiosity and constant improvement is something we challenge ourselves to do every day.

It’s in this spirit that NRF launches its foray into publishing on Medium, beginning with a series of stories from Retail’s BIG Show, our annual convention that brings 34,000 retailers and industry insiders to New York City for the latest in technology, trends and transformative ideas. After that, we’ll share more from other NRF events and discussions around retail technology, digital experience and mobile commerce.

Personally, I come to Medium for everything from big-picture inspiration to tactical details to entrepreneurial insights that are relevant to every business, but I also come here to discover conversations that are specific about retail, from e-commerce design link lists to personal customer experience stories. More often than not, articles on Medium are what my team is talking about at lunch, reading on the Metro or sharing via chat and email. We’re all excited about being part of this community and contributing to these conversations.

If you love what we post, I hope you’ll recommend, share and respond. If you have suggestions for us or want to contribute, email me anytime at elenstarj@nrf.com.
