Food journals have been in hype since the dawn of dieting. You are instructed to count every calorie you consume throughout the day and record it.

Every religious holiday is celebrated with food. Christmas is famous for rum cake while id is famous for shahi biryani. Food is culture, it ties you to your friends and family.

Your identity is rooted in the food you eat. Food is more than just nutrition, it’s a way of living.

Shame is not a great motivator

Food has a great impact on your mental and physical health. It can break or make your life.

So, it makes sense that you want to keep a track of your diet. But you are a human being with a low threshold of willpower and abundant choices.

The minute your self-discipline snaps, and you eat something unhealthy you feel guilty and shameful.

Writing it down will only make it worse. If you are on a diet then you know the shame that comes from breaking your diet, you don’t need a reminder for that.
