If I had to sum up this article in one line, it would be the one you just read.

The only time I guess we lived was when we were kids. We enjoyed and played and had fun. But of course, behind every playful kid, there is a team of parents who work hard, pay the bills, and make sure everything is perfect for that child.

The same thing circles back into adulthood with one exception. We become the parents of the child inside us. Don’t we?

We work hard so that we can buy the things we desire, pay our bills on time and overthink everything until we feel we don’t have anything else to worry about, at least for the next 5 minutes.

We do all of this for ourselves. To make sure that we have enough comfort in our day-to-day life. The problem though is, we become the parents for ourselves but we leave the kid inside behind. We work hard so that we don’t have to take the trouble of finding our next meal but seems like we are now worried about finding the next reason to be happy.

And then these reasons either rely on getting drunk on weekends or waiting until we have enough to take a trip once a year.
