The warm sight of my mother sleeping snugly under my sweater banishes the cold seeping into my bones.

Forgetting to get her sweater + popping random questions + having me escort her to the washroom = No sleep throughout the night bus journey.

It should have gotten on my nerves — but funnily, I felt amazing.

Compared to her mountain of a struggle to raise me and my brother as a single mother, my discomfort was a tiny ant mound.

As I spent that night hugging myself and staring through the window at the rapidly flashing trees, I found my thoughts pulled to an interesting topic.

Women.

More accurately, how men (should) treat women.

At a societal level, we have a messed-up dichotomy:

• Nice servile “simps” who worship even the dust under a woman’s cracked heels.
• Toxic “fake alphas” that treat (and advocate treating) women like absolute sh*t.
