After having finally completed the Turanic fleet I now have two of the eight fleets I have planned for my Homeworld series done (the Kadeshi were the very fist). As promised I will now offer you the lists I would use to play these factions in the wargame system FTL: Warfleets, the one I took inspiration from when creating these fleets. This system was made by One Page Rules, who have been making several great game systems during the last few years.

Without further ado, let’s check out these lists. I hope you’ll find them useful when you’re building your own fleets to play the game.

Kadeshi Fleet

The first fleet I finished was the Kadeshi one, long ago. If you look at the list I’ll provide below, you’ll see that this fleet is meant to strike single targets in numbers, overwhelm them and move on to the next target. They are based on the Xenos faction in FTL, so it’s a swift, yet fragile fleet with good range. This ought to emulate the faction’s portrayal in the original game.

Most capital ships are also given a title or a heroic ability. This means that although they may be fragile, they will bring something important to the table. For example, one of the Fuel Pods is meant to move ahead of the other vessels to support the squadrons during their first turn. It’s the kind of out-of-the box thinking that allows a fleet like this to win a game.

Turanic Fleet

Based on the Alliance faction from FTL, the Turanic are less mobile, but also somewhat fragile. Their ships have quite the long range, though, even some squadrons. Turanics are pirates riding ancient hulls with missiles and ion cannos strapped to them. They will try to cause as much damage as possible before the enemy can get close. At that point the squadrons will do the heavy lifting, supported by the Heavy Gun Cruiser.

The Assault Carrier is evidently the core of your fleet. It can strike from afar but also is great at supporting the squadrons. Its sinergy with the other untis allows you to go for the objectives and take control of them, and that should be how you play the Turanic.

Notes for Intercept Orbit

Arguably, many of these ship were originally build to work on another wargame system — Intercept Orbit. Simple and fun, it is built around the idea of using Lego to make your own models. Go check the rules as they are really interesting.

Under these rules, the Kadeshi would be built as follows:

Fuel Pods — HVAs

Multi-beam Frigate — 2x assault range weapons, 1x spotting system (sensors)

Needle Capital Ship — 1x support range weapon, 2x catapult, 1x defense system

Frame Ace — Blue

On the other hand, the Turanic would work as follows:

Assault Carrier — HVA

Ion Array Frigates — 1x support range weapon, 1x defense system, 1x catapult

Heavy Gun Capital Ship — 1x assault range weapon, 2x point defense weapons, 1x defense system

Frame Ace — Red

If you like post like this you can give me a tip at my Ko-fi account to help me devote more time to work on Lego builds, gaming aids, and original stuff. You can also check my RPG and general gaming stuff around the Internet.

Now go out there play some games and enjoy your lives!
