Media Mafia, Mania & the Reasoning

The media in general & India media in particular can be summed up in 3Cs i.e. Cricket, Cinema & Controversies. And if you would like one more C it’s the Controversies around Celebrities & I include the current crop of Politicians as well. Since they undeniably play up to the gallery .

Here I want to make one more point & that is Media, Offline ( TV, Print ) or Online ( Social Media that includes FB, Twitter, Whatsapp, blogs etc.) are not just feeding us unbiased content anymore or rather it never intends to.

The basic premise here is News is not information report on North East West & South on the contrary it’s a potent tool to create mass-hypnotism, paranoia & subvert public opinion.

Simply stated its a Propaganda Machine controlled by Crony Capitalists.

During the pre liberalisation era only government moderated the content & severely censored it. Hence It’s not surprising that Congress ruled the country for over 60 years. It’s also not surprising that Modi created a pro-development persona of himself with the help of PR machinery.

Now the big question – Who do you trust & rely upon ? And the answer really is very simple & we all possess it – that is Intellect .

Below is an Hadith from Sunan- Abu Dawud :

Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH) while sending Muadh Ibn Jabal to Yemen as an eWhen the Prophet SAW sent him to Yemen, he asked him, ‘How will you give a judgment or settle a dispute?’ Mu’adh answered; ‘I will refer to the Qur’an.’ The Prophet then asked, ‘What will you do if you do not find the decree you are looking for in the Qur’an?’ Mu’adh answered, ‘I will refer to the Prophet’s Sunnah.’ The Prophet SAW asked, ‘But what will you do if you do not find a decree even in the Sunnah?’ Mu’adh readily answered, ‘I will be judge between mankind by resorting to juristic reasoning (ijtihaad) to the best of my power .

May Allah (SWT) guide us with his endless mercy & infinite wisdom .
