What Crypto Winter? DApps Hit $165m Weekly Volume
The markets may be down, but real-world adoption is on the way up, with $165 million worth of weekly transaction volume on Ethereum and EOS decentralized apps (DApps). Unlike previous tech-based revolutions, this isn’t based on porn — its centred on gambling. The most popular DApp, BetDice, generated $129 million in revenue in the past seven days, while the second most popular, hongbao, is a Chinese ‘red envelope’ game. Both run on EOS, but half the top ten DApps run on Ethereum.

Beef Based Blockchain Shows Where’s The Beef
The Australian beef industry has turned to blockchain to track the supply chain of beef from paddock to plate. A supply chain trial of BeefLedger later this month will trace the meat’s journey from South Australia farms, to New South Wales processing facilities and onto consumers in Shanghai. A similar scheme in the US is known as BeefChain.

Blockchains Will Become Thousands of Times More Efficient
Ethereum cofounder Vitalik Buterin believes that future blockchains that have sharding based on Proof Of Stake will be ‘thousands of times more efficient’. Ethereum will move to halfway house Casper, which is a PoS, Proof of Work hybrid, that will help solve excessive energy consumption and scalability issues.

Women Are Flocking to Ripple (XRP) in Droves
Despite progress over the last decade, women are still a scarcity in blockchain. Yet, this could be about to change with Ripple (XRP) as the catalyst. A new survey by Etoro and Mumsnet, found 90% of female users on eToro (an online trading and investing platform) are invested in cryptocurrency, with XRP dominating. Here is the breakdown: XRP (56%)

Bitcoin (15%), Ethererum (10%),Litecoin (6%), Stellar (3%).

Security Token Offering raises 2.6 Million Euros
The in blockchain Neufund Security Token sale has raised 2.6 million euros to date — more than double its softcap — and will run until the end of the week. One of the first full legal European STOs, Neufund itself is a platform that aims to offer equity tokens and to help tokenize other assets.

IBM Tests Blockchain’s Implication on African Agriculture
IBM has partnered with a Nigerian agricultural startup to improve crop management systems by using distributed ledger technology. This system aims to reduce the post-harvest losses in the sub-Saharan area, by recording cultivation-related factors such as weather condition in the blockchain, enabling farmers to make better judgements.

MARKET
BTC Still Dominant Market Capitalisation
Bitcoin (BTC) is more dominant than it has been in three months, occupying 55.14% of the total market capitalisation of approximately $110 billion. The current market cap has dropped more than 86% compared to the all-time high $825 billion in January.
