Are you considering setting up a blog, but you’re wondering if it’s worth it?

Honestly, most of the time it isn’t. If you treat it just like another fun thing to do, and you share posts from time to time…

Unless you’re really enjoying it, you’re wasting your time.

Running a profitable blog means you need to treat it like a business. Be consistent. And use the following 5 ways to make your blog your most profitable asset.

Way #1: Build an email list

This one goes to the top of the list because… you guessed it… it’s the most important thing you can do.

Nothing matters nearly as much as having an email list. A responsive, interested list of people who want to hear from you.

So find an autoresponder and start building your list as soon as possible.

Way #2: Skip the SEO tricks

They aren’t worth it.

Google changes their algorithms often. People whine about having wasted their time, writing thousands of words, making them SEO optimized…

And then they go from hundreds of daily visits to zero.

Stop writing for search engines. Write for your human visitors. Use your common sense when you write headlines.

None of my blogs have ever lost traffic because of a Google algorithm change.

Way #3: Use Pinterest

Most, but not all, blogs can profit from Pinterest traffic.

Just like blogging, it takes consistency. Pin daily. It will take you around 15 minutes per day and it’s worth it.

Make sure to follow the rules so you won’t get banned.

Way #4: Add affiliate marketing links

Whatever you need for your blog niche, your readers will need too.

They will be happy to learn about your experience. What did you find good? What did you find bad?

Write about it and use affiliate links with your posts.

You can make money many years after. I’ve done that many times.

Way #5: Create something to sell

Create a course or an eBook or something else to sell from your blog.

This will not only add value to your blog. It will also give your readers something that is uniquely you. After all, they found your blog because they wanted to read what you had to share.

A blog post is great.

But why not give them more?

It’s a good idea to learn from blog comments and questions and then help your readers by creating a digital or physical product that helps them.

Where to start?

Why not start with my 1-hour money maker?

It may take you 2 hours the first time, but you can get a feel for how it works. I’ve written down all the steps for you and I’m sharing them in my report for only $29.

But as a loyal Medium reader, you can get my “1-Hour Money-Maker” for free here today by using the coupon code MEDIUM.
