How to store, send and receive tokens from Ethereum, Lisk and IOV blockchain in the same wallet with a human readable address.

After months of hard work, the time has come for us to share with you IOV’s first Wallet Demo! We are excited to show you our first Wallet Demo, where it is possible to see up close the intuitive qualities of our wallet’s interface, as well as start making the basic token transactions using our standard library IOV-core.

In this demo, we show you how the IOV Wallet stores different tokens from different blockchains, which allows the user to easily access all their balances. You are able to see four different blockchains running on testnets: two that IOV is actually running (the BCPnet and the BNSnet), and we are also connected to Ethereum Testnet Rinkeby and LISK testnet, in order to illustrate that we are actually capable of connecting to other blockchains from IOV-core.

The video shows you how to send and receive tokens by using the human-readable addresses, which makes it a fast and simple experience. We start the demonstration by going through how to receive a payment from IOV wallet users by giving them your IOV address. We then show how to send a payment, by choosing which token to use and easily typing the human-readable address of the person you are making the transaction to. You can also see how it looks like for the person who just received the tokens.

The Wallet Demo use the functionality of our client library: IOV-core. IOV-core provides an abstract standard API to query a blockchain or a send a token.

It is the magic of IOV finally taking form. We can take a glimpse into a future where blockchains are interconnected and token transactions are simple and accessible by anyone.

What’s next?

  • IOV-core

We are currently improving IOV-core to handle smart-contracts on Ethereum, particularly ERC20 and perform atomic swaps between different chains.

  • Google Chrome Extension

We are now building a Browser Extension as a more secure way of signing transactions and managing web applications to interact with your tokens.
