Our new website will not include Gnosis LightWallet functionality. So if you are still holding tokens in a Gnosis LightWallet, then it is necessary to transfer them to a different wallet.
This short walkthrough will show you how to move your funds from the Gnosis LightWallet to a MetaMask account.
To begin, you will need the MetaMask Chrome browser extension and your Gnosis LightWallet wallet file.
1. Go to https://tokit.io/login.
2. Upload your Gnosis LightWallet wallet file. (This will be a .txt file type.)
3. Enter your wallet password. This will take you to a new screen.
4. Click on Wallet in the upper righthand corner of the Tokit window.
5. Click Show my private key.
6. Enter your wallet password once again, and then click Copy private key. When doing so, review best practices — especially with regards to sharing, copying, screenshotting and preparing online transactions — in private key management.
7. Open Metamask and click Import Account.
8. Enter your private key, and then click Import.
That’s it! Your funds have been transferred from the Gnosis LightWallet to MetaMask. For added security, consider transferring your funds to a Gnosis Safe Multi-signature wallet.
