Learning keeps the mind young. It helps you gain new perspectives. It evolves you into a better person.

But as an adult, our biases can stop us from learning new things. If you stop learning then you are more likely to repeat the past.

We need to have an open mind to learn new things. Accepting these flaws is a roadmap to becoming a lifelong learner.

1. Gaps in knowledge

Writing is a new skill that I am trying to gain. And English is my second language so it is not an easy feat. Brushing up old grammar rules was an easy task. But learning to write an engaging essay is an art.

The deeper I delve into this topic the more I learn how little I know. There is no shortage of material on the internet, you can find both free and paid sources to get better at this craft.

In the beginning, the improvement is generally exponential because you know very little. But once you reach to intermediate level then you come to a realization about the gaps in your knowledge.

Skill and knowledge gaps are the biggest roadblock in any project, the faster you accept your shortcomings the sooner you can take an action to improve on those areas.
