If you arrive at a running route you’ve already completed once, your Apple Watch can now automatically detect it using Maps data & GPS, and offer track specific metrics.
Even if the track isn’t detected, no worries. You can choose it after the run in the Workout Summary section of the Fitness app on the iPhone.

If you run, cycle, or perform wheelchair workout on such a familiar track, you can now race against your last or best result
— and your Apple Watch will send real-time notifications (Like: You’re Behind), while the workout’s on, to get you beat your past-self.
