What to Do When You Feel like Giving Up

When the quarantine started, gyms closed everywhere. As a fitness enthusiast that absolutely loved lifting weights, this was quite an unpleasant surprise.

After whining for a few days, I decided to stop complaining and accept the pandemic situation as a challenge instead.

I had to make do with whatever I had at my disposal— my body weight, a sturdy bag, a few resistance bands, a pair of 15lb dumbbells, and my creativity.

I chalked up an initial routine and got to work.

It was kind of fun and even felt rewarding initially — the fact that I was still working out when most of my friends had lost motivation and stopped.

I thought that I would have to somehow persevere for at most 2 months after which gyms would mostly reopen.

Over the span of 2 months, I stayed pretty consistent tweaking my routine every now and then as I came up with or found better alternatives.

But as the pandemic situation got worse, it didn't seem like gyms would open any time soon. Even if they did, it wouldn’t be safe to go.
