The Dune-FreeTON merge Part I: Entering the FreeTON ecosystem

The Dune-FreeTON merge is starting very soon ! The FreeTON tokens are ready to be claimed ; here are the few steps you need to perform to get your own address and be able to receive your tokens. You do not need to download anything for this tutorial ; we will use TON Surf, usable through your favorite browser.

A full tutorial of TON Surf is available here. We will only describe here how to create your account and get your public address, but we strongly recommend you to read the full tutorial to familiarize yourself with the tool.

First, create a wallet. You will be asked to read the Surf Decentralization policy. Once you are done, click on “I have read and accept it” and confirm.

Create a pin code for your device. This pin will allow you to access your account from your current device.

Congratulations, your account is ready !

You have now landed on your new account main page. Before getting your public address, we strongly recommend you to click on “Backup seed phrase”. This will give you access to your Seed Phrase, which is the only way to recover your account. Write it down carefully and put it in a safe place, as if your life depended on it. Be sure to never loose it, and never let anyone see it. LOOSING YOUR SEED PHRASE = LOOSING YOUR FUNDS FOREVER, AND NO ONE — NOT EVEN US — CAN RECOVER YOUR FUNDS.

Now click on the top-left button : it will lead you to the account settings. You can change the language, the page theme, your contacts, etc. Once on the setting menu, click on “Safety protection” — “Address and keys”.
