Have you heard about intuition?

Well, you might have come across this article from my other article about purpose. If not, well, you are lucky because intuition is underrated. We are rarely aware of our intuition, and we think that intuition is useless.

On the other hand, there are a lot of people who don’t feel any intuition.

So, to continue this article, you need to know what intuition is.

From positivepsychology.com, Intuition is that feeling in your gut when you instinctively know that something you are doing is right or wrong. It’s in your subconscious mind. You feel it.

You know that it’s not right, but you can’t explain it.

So it’s basically intuition.

What about the inner voice?

Sometimes we mistakenly equate intuition with inner voice.

They are actually not the same.

From readingsmorebyjennafer.com, Intuition comes through your senses and is unconscious — you get a feeling. See or hear a reminder, just know you need to do something, etc.

Your inner voice comes from inside your mind and is conscious — a thought pops into your head, you wonder about something, etc.

We usually use our inner voice and rarely use our intuition. Whereas intuition is much more likely to be accurate because it comes from within yourself. It’s from your deep subconscious mind.

So, you will probably be satisfied with your choice.

Why do we need intuition?

We need intuition in order to make great decisions.

We sometimes feel something that we like, and we choose it based on our feelings. Intuition plays a great part in making decisions, developing strategies, and planning. The most important thing is that you can use intuition to find your purpose because it reflects what you really want.

Your deepest self tells you what you really want to do. Your deepest self tells you what you want for the future.

So intuition plays a great part in that.

But I don’t feel any intuition.

We usually understand our own inner voice rather than our intuition.

Your inner voice could tell us about what you really like, but it’s mixed up with what you saw on the internet or in social media. You might want to be someone else because it’s cool. You might want to be a businessman because it makes a lot of money.

We wandered around without really knowing what we wanted.

We lose ourselves not because we want to, but because other people make us the way we are right now. Your parents or your teacher might tell you to do things like this and that without giving you any freedom to choose.

You might have a boss tell you what is exactly “safe” in the office, and you get used to that. That could affect your intuition because you now have no idea what you really want and are just doing what the world wants you to do.

So, in order to do that, you need to practice your intuition to restore it.

Is it possible to get my intuition back?

Yes, it’s possible.

Everything is possible if you are willing to believe in it and work hard for it. What I mean by everything is not like flying, etc. It’s more like goals that you want to achieve. So does intuition.

You just need to practice.

Practical things to get my intuition back

So, you need to focus on yourself and really listen to what you really want.

By doing that, you can achieve your intuition skills slowly. Surely, in the future, you can have your intuition as strong as an ox. You feel it whenever you want to make decisions.

The most important thing is to find your real purpose.

Things you can do are meditate. Meditation not only makes you feel calm and relaxed, but it can also silence your inner voice. So, you can really focus on your subconscious mind and feel what you really want.

You might get an idea while you are meditating, but remember to focus on what is in your subconscious mind.

Well, I can’t hear my subconscious mind.

How do I differentiate my subconscious mind from my conscious mind?

From the Skillshare Blog, If you notice a strong instinct to do something or move away from it, try following that advice and see what develops as a result.

Seeing positive outcomes after following your intuition can help reinforce that you do know what’s best for you and give you more confidence to trust your gut in the future.

Start with something low-stakes, like which route to take on a drive, to take the pressure off.

So, feel something that you really want. You can evaluate yourself daily with journaling, too. Journaling can help you understand what you want and how you feel.

By doing daily journaling, you can eventually become more aware of your own mind.

So, journaling and meditation are a great combo, not only for calm and relaxation but for your deepest self too.

Inner peace

Just like in the movie Kung Fu Panda, you can feel your inner peace while meditating and focus on what you need to do.

You can focus on the purpose you want to pursue. You can focus on differentiating between negative and positive reactions.

At the end, you will feel more calm and relaxed and eventually find your real purpose.

At the end

We all have our own deepest selves to tell us what we really want to do.

We all have our own intuition, but we lose it because of our society and our work, which make us silent about our own intuition.

Even so, with deliberate and consistent practice, we will restore our own intuition and find our real purpose.
