Introduction

At Modclub, we highly value the contributions of our moderators. To ensure precise content moderation, we’ve implemented a new system known as the Reputation Score. If you’re new to this concept, there’s no need to worry! In this article, we’ll guide you through how the Reputation Score operates and how it benefits you as a moderator.

Understanding the Reputation Score

Imagine the Reputation Score as a training program that helps you grow in your role as a moderator. It’s like climbing a ladder with three levels:

Novice Moderator (Reputation Score 0–19)

Junior Moderator (Reputation Score 20–49)

Senior Senior (Reputation Score 50–100)

Figure 1: Reputation levels according to moderators’ score

Novice Moderator (Reputation Score 0–19)

As a novice, you begin with a Reputation Score of 10. During this phase, you’re in “training mode,” meaning your votes do not directly impact the final decision, and you do not receive token rewards. However, for every correct vote, your Reputation Score increases by 1, and for every incorrect vote, it decreases by 1. Upon reaching a Reputation Score of 20, you’ll advance to the junior level.

Junior Moderator (Reputation Score 20–49)

As a junior moderator, your votes carry weight in the moderation process. You’ll earn MOD tokens when you vote correctly. Only 50% of your rewards are accessible in your wallet until you reach the Senior level. Your Reputation Score continures to increase by 1 for every 10 correct votes and decrease by 1 for every 10 incorrect votes. To become a senior, you’ll need to succeed around 300 times.

Senior Moderator (Reputation Score 50–100)

When you reach a Reputation Score of 50, you become a senior moderator. Senior moderators can unlock the other 50% of MOD that have been locked up while in the Junior level.

To access your locked rewards, Senior Moderators will need to stake a certain amount of MOD. The token withdrawal process has a 7 day withdrawal delay. If you wish to withdraw all your tokens including your staked tokens, you can, but your Reputation Score will move back to Junior. We developed this formula in collaboration with Quantum Economics, which is detailed in our tokenomics paper here.

Challenges and Rewards

To maintain or increase your Reputation Score, it’s vital to vote correctly. Voting against the majority results in a decrease in your Reputation Score. We’ve designed the reputation system to ensure that moderators aren’t financially penalized for making a wrong decision. Instead, it encourages them to build up their score to reach senior status and access the MOD tokens they’ve earned.

Conclusion

Modclub’s Reputation Score encourages you to improve your skills while maintaining fairness in the content moderation process. Remember, everyone starts as a novice, and with dedication and accuracy, you can climb the ladder to become a senior moderator and enjoy the benefits that come with it.
