India is the most vegetarian country in the world with 38% of the population being vegetarian, and yes it is because we worship cows.

I have been a vegetarian since birth, I have never had meat or eggs. I am a dispel of Jainism the motto of my religion is to “Live and Let Live”. So, we try to protect every organism of god’s creation.

As a Lacto-vegetarian, It was not a struggle for me to switch to a vegan diet, as I only had two major changes to make the switch to plant-based milk and a vegan oil.

Vegetarian/vegans have lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and are less prone to hypertension and type 2 diabetes than meat-eaters. They are also leaner and healthier.

As a vegan, you should focus on these four healthy groups for proper nutrition, they should be your staple:-

  • Vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Whole Grains
  • Legumes

You can get all the vitamins and minerals from these foods along with the required macronutrient.
