To have a smooth and reliable validation ceremony experience, we recommend using VPS or built-in nodes if you have fast Internet connection and good router, or the nodes listed in the node marketplace in the official Idena Web App in other cases.

Blockchain explorer update
To monitor mining income, we have added the number of mined and burned coins due to mining penalties. You can find this information on the Mining rewards tab. The data is grouped by epoch.
Another update is related to pools. New fields are added to display the sum of delegated accounts’ stakes (Total stake) and the sum of delegated validated accounts’ stakes (Validators’ stake).
Actual mining income of a pool is also available at the Mining rewards tab.
Flip protection with adversarial noise
Flip protection with adversarial noise is integrated into the flip creation flow. It’s ready to be released with the Idena Desktop app. However, the process of updating user apps is not simultaneous and it can take a while. That is why we plan a smooth transition.
We will release the new Idena Desktop app version with flip protection which will become visible starting at epoch 95, so most users will have time to update their clients and create flips with noise. The Web app will also be updated accordingly.
Ads in the desktop app
Ads module is to be fully functioning in the desktop app. You can create ads as an advertiser, review ads as an Oracle if you are selected in the committee and enjoy watching ads when you make transactions. The new desktop app version will be released soon.

IIP-5 progress
It’s been a month since the IIP-5 hard fork was activated. We see that the network is gradually adapting to new changes.
The number of mining nodes has stopped decreasing and is trending upward despite the fact that the size of the network is decreasing.
IIP-5 was also aimed at reducing large pool rewards and, as a result, decreasing the size of pools which do not invest coins in staking. The chart below shows the size dynamics of 10 largest pools. There has been a slight decrease of validated identities in most large pools. However, it is too early to say whether the goals have been achieved or not.
We monitor these dynamics and keep you updated.
The total amount of staked coins has increased to 10M iDNA and continues to grow. More than 1.4K identities replenished their stakes to get more rewards.
There are 1.2k+ users who neither delegate nor run their own node.
Many of these dormant users have significant stakes and are not aware of the latest changes in the protocol. Please tell your invitees and friends who have validated identities about mining rewards based on stakes, help them get their nodes up and running. It will make quadratic staking rewards distribution more balanced and increase the network decentralization.

Hello Humans! This Epoch we saw the return of a community event favorite, the Flip Wars! At the same time, Idena community made progress on the governance and kept building, so let’s get into it.
“Flip wars: Reborn” by EDM (@Relight_Motion)
OG Idena community members may remember about the Flip wars, a community event where everyone could compete around a funny challenge. With the same keywords, two members would prepare secretly a flip, which would be then unveiled and submitted to the community vote. Eventually Community would chose for the best flip, a flip that follows flip Rules, contains both keywords while be creative and AI-resistant.
EDM, an actual former Flip War Champion, relaunched the concept, but this time the best flips are selected through Idena Oracles.
The First Showmatch was recently announced and saw a winner receiving 100 iDNA, while voters of the correct side also received rewards.

Community governance status and current community funding proposals
It’s really great to see community governance maturing and thriving, thanks to delegates commitment who work on understanding and shaping the governance rules. As a result, the community notably was able to fund few Chronicles translations, without any decision or intervention from the core team.
Following these improvements, Idena core developers funded the community wallet with 50k IDNA.
Governance is still about iteration so we are really looking forward to everyone’s participation and willingness to improve it.
At the moment, we have two on-going community funding proposals so don’t forget to make your voice count by participating at different level:
Chronicles Translation Funding Proposal

Don’t hesitate to add your vote with a thumbs-up or just discuss about it. If the proposal reaches the required amount of vouches, community delegates will set up an Oracle.
