Last week, Maria McKavanagh was invited to the BBC Broadcasting House to appear on the BBC World Service radio show entitled Business Matters, and we’re pleased to say that this was aired over the weekend! Part of the show explored trends in the connected home and what we can expect to see going forward, especially in the world of energy. Using the example of the Verv home hub, Maria highlighted how important it is to provide users with data in a digestible way in order to empower them to make clever decisions that will help them to save money and more.

She also spoke of her expectations for 2019, with decarbonisation, digitalisation and democratisation playing a big role in the energy space as we see technology like peer-to-peer energy trading on blockchain technology become more prominent. You can listen to or download the Business Matters broadcast here, with Maria’s segment appearing at 47:45!

BBC World Service attracts 38 million unique monthly visitors globally and we were thrilled to have been invited on the show to share insight into Verv and our thoughts on the smart home market!
