There are a few telltale symptoms that signal we’re not feeling so great. For lack of a better term, I’m talking about depression — but not necessarily the full blown clinical kind — although some of these are indeed potential red flags for it. Here are a few of the signs I’ve noticed in myself and others as well as some of the methods I’ve found effective at rebooting.

1. You’re not motivated to do anything except the bare minimum

Some days you might feel like you’re doing the least amount possible in order to just get by. Perhaps you even think things like, “I just have to get through the day.” Maybe dishes in the sink are piling up or you’ve stopped making your lunch for work and instead grab something outside instead. Any excuse to not do additional activities, whether it be social or otherwise, are on the table.
