How hashport is leveraging Arkhia for consistent, reliable, high-quality data to build the future of interoperability.

Arkhia is committed to providing high-availability data from Hedera and other networks enabling developers to build successful, secure applications that extend current market capabilities.

What is hashport?

hashport is an interoperability solution enabling the secure, cost-effective transfer of assets across supported networks. Currently, supported networks include Hedera, Polygon, and Ethereum. The network is secured by a validator swarm consisting of nine industry-leading organisations across diverse market sectors. The nine validators are Animoca Brands, BCW, LimeChain, Calaxy, StableNode (MakerDao), Polygon, The HBAR Foundation, and Hex Trust.

hashport leverages the Hedera Consensus Service and the Hedera Rest API, capitalising on the speed and finality provided by the protocol. The validator “Bridge” wallet operates through multi-sig, and every transaction yields a 0.5% service fee that is evenly distributed amongst the validators.

What does this mean for the Hedera Ecosystem?

  • hashport is the primary bridge and interoperability application empowering the porting of value between Hedera Token Service (HTS), EVM networks, and even within the service fabric of Hedera itself. hashport offers multi-network movements as well as an API for scheduling n-leg value transfers between networks.

How is hashport using Arkhia?

hashport utilises Arkhia in two ways: the validator swarm at the heart of the hashport network and on the frontend client (the dashboard), by providing extra transactional information through Hedera’s REST API.

“At hashport we provide a critical infrastructure utility to the community that requires 24/7 availability. In the past, while using the public mirror node, we would frequently experience outages that broke our application flow and resulted in increased customer service issues. Moving to Arkhia has helped us eliminate these problems.” — Jesse Whiteside, Director of Business Development at hashport

Arkhia presents a powerful opportunity for hashport since hashport’s node-sets, addresses, and consensus layer require comprehensive and 100% available data from Hedera in order to sign, seal and deliver tokens between networks. Transactions will occasionally get stuck or won’t proliferate around the HP network due to the limitations of the public infrastructure on the hashgraph public node sets. With Arkhia, hashport’s service dependability and network persistence have increased by a significant degree as enterprise-grade infrastructure offers a significant assurance of data availability, speed, and consistency.

Similarly, the ‘frontend’ (i.e. the web dashboard) on hashport communicates with its backend via blockchains. That is to say, hashport, as a multi-chain portal, needs to establish a reliable connection stream with multiple blockchain protocols and Web2.0 APIs. Arkhia offers an out-of-the-box provider solution for these pillars making the retail user experience more stable, trustworthy, and available.

“We recognise hashport serves a critical need in the Hedera community. This requires reliable and scalable access to Hedera’s mirror nodes to operate. That’s why hashport has chosen Arkhia to provide highly available and robust endpoints to mirror nodes and infrastructure to provide uninterrupted service to their customers.” — Ethan Lee, Head of Business at Arkhia
