Productivity is a trap. There I said it.

The harder you try to be productive the deeper you’ll fall into this trap. It’ll become an obsession that will wreck everything good in your life.

You’ll want to optimize every second of the hour, ultimately leading to burnout and poor mental health.

I have been in this trap for over three years now and let me tell you it’s really hard to get out. Some habits like yoga, meditation, and mindfulness can help but it’s only temporary peace.

You need to start by deleting the habits that drag you back into this trap, Here are the three habits that I gave up to beat the rat race.

1. All Work No Play Makes Jake a Dull Boy Indeed

Society pushes us to be productive at all times. You are advised not to waste even a minute in idle chatter. This image of ultra productivity will wreck your mental health.

No one can optimize their entire day, your life is not data. It’s a gift that you should cherish with every breath you take.
