Struggling is an important phase of our lives.

We need to face struggle to improve ourselves and learn from it. Without it, it’s just an illusion of a comfort zone. Most of us might have experienced struggling in life, or maybe you are right now. This is a good phase, but not comfortable to live in.

I know that you are trying to get out of this rut and make your life better, but what’s the benefit of struggling in the first place?

Struggling helps us become aware of our own situation.

Most of the time, we just enjoy our lives without being present.

We just think that this day is just an ordinary and comfortable day, while life is not always like that. Struggling is giving you awareness that the situation you are in right now is not right or uncomfortable.

It might give you a sign that you need to get out of this right now because it needs to be improved.

The second important key is that you are being built to become strong.

You are practicing yourself, whether it’s physical, mental, or spiritual; all of them are strengthening you to become strong.

You might feel like you are strong enough, but in life, we always have to face the limit of our own strength to become much stronger. In this phase, you can’t avoid it. This is why it is important to know that struggling is a good thing in life because it might be a sign that you are being built to become stronger.

So, struggling is actually important for your wellbeing.

Even so, not many people can deal with their struggles.

Struggling is hard, and it’s not comfortable.

Most people can’t deal with their own struggles and end up becoming much worse than before.

Other than that, there are people who can deal with their struggles and find a happy life after that. They succeed or overcome the failures and struggles they face. This is actually what we wanted, which is a good ending.

The price of the good ending is still not a cheap price, and we need to pay it to achieve it. This is why people struggle, whether they become worse or overcome what they struggle with.

The one reason that people become much worse when they are in a struggling situation is because they try to escape it.

Escaping means playing video games, scrolling on social media, or maybe drinking too much and avoiding facing the struggles in their life. That’s the common escape that people use to avoid life struggles or difficulties. That’s why people are becoming worse than before because they thought they couldn’t handle it and then decided to just quit.

The important key in life is not quitting, not if you have a good reason for quitting.

For example, you might not like your job because it’s pretty toxic, so it’s a good reason to quit if you find yourself depressed about it. But if you are afraid of doing what you need to do for your own wellbeing, like stop doing your bad habits, it might actually be an opportunity to strengthen you and help you become better.

Struggling is the same thing, but this time you are faced with a big monster in front of you.

That monster is just going to stand in front of you, and you need to face it, whether you fight it or just avoid it.

Facing it or fighting it means that you want to stay disciplined about what you need to do and fix in your life. Escaping means you don’t go that way and just turn around and go back to your comfort zone, which is where most people find their escape.

So, in order for you to fight it, there’s no other way than just doing the thing you need to do, but here’s the best advice that I had in order to face that monster.

Give it a double for what he asked.

I tried to eliminate my bad habits one time, and then I suddenly struggled with cravings for those bad habits.

I wanted to play video games or watch some corn so bad. I don’t know what to do, and people around me suddenly become toxic, and I feel a little bit lonely.

Then you know what I did?

I double down on it.

I don’t mean double down on going down to the worst, but double down on my improvement. I was giving myself the freedom to watch YouTube, but after I felt that struggle and felt like life was much worse than before, I stopped watching YouTube too.

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”

Well, did I really succeed in facing the monster?

The one thing you need to know before finishing reading this article is that the big monster that you always face is actually yourself.
