If you are aiming for the perfect shot, you will never shoot.

People don’t want to be known as failures. This is one of the things school taught us wrong. We were taught to dread failure and avoid it by all means. But the mindset to succeed in life is just the opposite.

The number of failures we have in the world won’t come close to the ideas people never started. They never gave it a chance. It died before it ever began. And so we cannot measure it.

But many people think of that as having a clean slate. They believe it is a good thing. They are comfortable with the fact that they had no failures. But they want success. Turns out success doesn’t really come that way.

Every overnight success has a 10-year story nobody knows about. If not, the success won’t last. And the person is worse off it. That is because they will struggle to reproduce the success and it will lead to frustration. That is because everybody now expects the standard every time.

This is why everybody needs that 10-year story. You need that 10-year story. But the story is not going to be there because you want to make a story. You live your life and it becomes a story in retrospect.
