Making Your Dream Real Is Easier Than You Think

The opposite of making money is making excuses. People often think it takes a conscious effort to make a lot of money. That is not true.

I was listening to a podcast where Ray Dalio, a billionaire hedge fund manager, was interviewed. The interviewer asked him how fun it must be for him to make billions. And Ray answered in a very calm tone. He said:

I just got good at something that makes you a lot of money if you get good at it

As far as Ray was concerned, it was just a game. And he got so good at it. So, it is not about making a lot of money. It is about getting good at a game that makes you a lot of money if you are good at it.

This is the story of most people who become billionaires. Most of them didn’t start with the ambition that they want to be a billionaire. They just wanted to be very good at something. And the consequence of being very good at it is that lots of money get to flow in their direction.
