I just found the infograph from the above picture … and it’s pretty good

You can skip this article and find the link at the bottom. Then come back for the explanation ☺

So, why do people decide to open their own business?

As you can see from the graph, the reasons vary from continent to continent , in the US , almost 75% open their own business after being made redundant, whereas in the UK the vast majority do it because they want more money or to be their own boss

However, what’s interesting about this is that almost HALF A BILLION new businesses were started in the 2013 in the UK alone . Now that says something. People like you and me got fed up with the corporate world, maybe even made redundant , and decided we want more money, make our own destiny and bring our own great idea to light.

The biggest problems problems people have when opening their business is lack of funding and the ability to generate new customers because they don’t know how to market themselves, and because of these reasons, only half of them commit full-time to their own business and the other half work only part time.

In my opinion, for a business to be successful , you have to treat it as a business. Would you trust someone that does not trust their own business? Probably not.

But if you know to read the signs, this graph points out the biggest single problem all entrepreneurs have. They are good at what they do, but they don’t know how to sell it. And by selling it , I mean get even a few free customers to try their product.

Having said that , when it comes to sales, the shiniest silver bullet there is , is proper follow-up. There is no point making a sales call if you ain’t gonna follow-up up. So making those extra 4, 5 or sometimes more calls till you get to the first meeting becomes crucial.

With today’s technology and plethora of apps, there shouldn’t be difficult to find an app who allows you to stop forgetting to follow-up.
