Apple has made privacy its main selling point. Every time I came across Apple’s creative ads on privacy, I assumed it’s the Cupertino giant’s marketing strategy to make more sales.

But nah, I was wrong.

When I watched Steve Jobs’s take on privacy at the D8 Conference held in 2010, with the tone he spoke, I realised how much he cares for privacy.

The conference happened a decade ago, when hardly anyone knew how important privacy was.

Keeping all aside, I was surprised by how relevant his words still are, even in 2022! And I’m sure they will stay relevant for the visible future.

At the beginning of the privacy timestamp he says,

“We take privacy extremely seriously.”

And that they’re worried a lot about location privacy in phones. He adds that he always feared a 14-year old’s iPhone might be stalked and something terrible might happen to him due to their privacy blunder.

However, he can’t make it a rule every app developer has to ask their user to access location data — Because they might not follow it.
