The current situation with Diesel in Panama
According to the United Nations Environment Programme 2022 report [1], Panama has ULSD with a maximum sulfur content of 15 ppm.
The most common gas stations in Panama are Delta, Terpel, Puma & Texaco. Diesel is often marketed as “Bajo Azufre” without any specific details about the sulfur content.
In general, Diesel in Panama is regarded as being high quality. The USA is the most common source of refined Diesel.
AdBlue/DEF (Diesel exhaust fluid) in Panama
Typically you won’t find AdBlue/DEF at gas stations in Panama but it is very common to find it at official dealerships that have parts and service.
