Apple launches yet another disruptor of an industry — “Apple Music Sing” — that could nearly kill popular karaoke apps like Smule.

This feature will be available for all Apple Music subscribers (except Siri Voice Plan subs) worldwide later this month, likely alongside iOS, iPadOS, & tvOS 16.2.

It can be enjoyed on (as the updates above suggest) iPhone, iPad, and the “new” Apple TV 4k.

Apple specifically mentions “new” in its Newsroom article. So, it’ll probably not be available on the 2nd Gen Apple TV 4k.

Bad. I thought I wasn’t upgrading to the latest Apple TV 4k :-/

What’s Sing? And what you can do with it?

If you’ve used karaoke apps before, you’ll understand this pretty easily.

Karaoke is a form of entertainment where people sing popular songs over pre-recorded backing tracks.
