Meeting One Person Every Day in May

As companies grow, it’s sometimes difficult to maintain the small feel that we all know is so essential to feeling like you belong. This is true for both new employees and veteran ones. If you value community and culture personally, you will prioritize them. It’s a myth that people don’t have time to do something easy and important. They just don’t make it a priority.

I found myself feeling guilty of that lately as I pass more and more colleagues I don’t recognize, much less know the names of. So I’ve tasked myself with meeting one employee who is new to me in the month of May.

I made this project official on Twitter last week:

That’s 21 work days in total. If I like how this goes, I’ll leave open the possibility of extending this project past May. But I’ll be testing my way into it over the next few weeks. Here’s evidence of my first introduction early this morning.

Won’t you join me? What’s stopping you?
