Description of Cryptocurrency Trading Bot
This project focuses on development of a software, ‘bot’, which will automatically manage a cryptocurrency portfolio, and make/place trades with the intent of making a profit (while accounting for risk).
To this end, we have created numerous python scripts for Cryptocurrency Trading Bots, with all documentation through this medium blog and the Blockchain Engineer youtube channel and blog posts for selected topics.
Advanced Cryptocurrency Trader Bot
I apologize for the delay in Chapter 5, 6 & 7, however, this new set of coursework will extend what we learned previously about cryptocurrency trading bots (which was limited to a Binance Bot) and we will extend functionality to all coins, currencies & exchanges (not just Binance & Binance listed coins). This chapter will utilize software design to mimic ‘self-contained’ natural phenomenon.
The previous bot, while a great resource to learn, was based on outdated/deprecated libraries (such as MatPlotLib Finance library package), and limited to the Binance exchange. Through the rest of the ‘advanced’ version of this course, we will transition to the cctx library.
For the completion of this project, a few fundamental changes will be made:
- A New Github Repository will be created with an archived version of the Binance Bot and a new version of the Cryptocurrency Trading Bot which will be used for our ‘advanced’ cryptocurrency trading bot (with functionality extended to all coins & exchanges)
- More Live-Coding will be included in these final tutorials, and a more finished and polished project to begin testing your own cryptocurrency trader bots. Functionality will eventually be added such as a Graphical User Interface (GUI).
- We will be utilizing the cctx python library rather than python-binance, Cryptrack, and MatPlotLib Finance.
