SparkPoint Updates #43: May 2023
SparkPoint continues to fuel its growth as it enters the mid-year.
May 2023 was another successful month for SparkPoint. We launched a number of new updates and features for SparkSwap, including a new trading platform and an Open Beta Trading Competition. These new features expanded our reach and offered users more opportunities to trade and earn. SparkPoint is committed to continuing to innovate and provide the best possible trading experience for our users, and proud of the accomplishments the team made in May.
SparkPoint is excited to continue to grow and expand SparkSwap in the coming months.

1. SparkSwap and ApolloX partnership brings forth SparkSwap Futures
The collaboration of SparkSwap and ApolloX has brought upon the forming of SparkSwap Futures, a platform that is a game changing solution for traders looking to benefit from perpetual trading. SparkSwap Futures is a revolutionary decentralized perpetual futures trading platform that’s fast, affordable and accessible to all to which enables traders to capitalize on market volatility without owning physical assets.
2. Open Beta Trading Competition was a success!
The SparkSwap Futures Open Beta Trading Competition was a huge success! The competition, which began on May 3, 2023, and ended on May 31, 2023, had a total trading volume of $112,728.
All users could participate in the competition by trading on the platform during the competition period and following some simple guidelines. The top traders were rewarded with a share of the prize pool.
The success of the competition is a one big start for SparkSwap Futures as it demonstrates the potential of DeFi and DEXs to disrupt the traditional financial system. It also shows that there is a growing demand for decentralized platforms that offer users greater control over their finances.
SparkSwap Futures is committed to providing users with the best possible trading experience. The team is excited to continue to innovate and grow the SparkSwap DeFi ecosystem.
3. SparkSwap and ApolloX Labor Day Livestream
Starting off May 2023, Drei Bongalos and Shane Sarza hosted an exciting and informative livestream with ApolloX. The team discussed the collaboration between the partners, and the viewers were enlightened with the latest developments that will transform their trading experience. They also had a chance to win up to $200 worth of SFUEL.
The livestream included our very own Mat Ivan Aquero, Aldrick Bonaobra, and Valentina Sun from ApolloX. The guests discussed the partnership in detail, and they also answered questions from the viewers.
The viewers were impressed with the latest developments, and they are looking forward to seeing how the partnership will benefit them.
4. SparkPoint present at the Albay ICT Industry Association meeting
The Albay ICT Industry Association (AICTA) convened a meeting for its members, which included SparkPoint, to deliberate on strategies for enhancing and elevating the status of the ICT industry in Albay. Mr. Jonathan Luzuriaga, President of the Philippines Software Industry Association and CEO of Spring Valley, attended the meeting to formally meet the members and initiate a presentation and forum. The purpose was to discuss PSIA’s Roadmap 2028, aimed at attracting more industry investors and players to the countryside, providing a broader perspective on supporting digital transformation in light of the current ICT-BPM Industry Sector of the Philippines, and securing robust support from other government agencies for inclusive growth.
The meeting also covered other upcoming activities, and it was decided that monthly meetings would be held to further deliberate plans for the Albay ICT industry. Organization members in attendance included SparkLearn EdTech, Ownly, Upward Solutions, PLDT, Globe Telecom, DTI, and PESO Legazpi.
5. Building Cross Platform Apps with SparkLearn EdTech Flutter Workshop
The SparkLearn EdTech Flutter Workshop was a huge success, thanks to the enthusiastic participants, the support of community partners, and sponsors. The workshop was held at the SparkPoint office and was led by SparkLearn EdTech’s expert trainers last May 27, 2023.
The workshop covered a wide range of Flutter’s powerful features, and the participants got the opportunity to network with other developers and learn from their experiences.
6. Development updates from Team SparkSwap
These updates focus on improving the user experience, adding new features, and upgrades.
- Navigation Menu Updates: The navigation menu across all SparkSwap dapps had been updated. The perpetual navigation menu item now opens in a new tab, ensuring a smoother user experience.
- Multisender App: Free multisending is now available to whitelisted users and they can now perform multisends without incurring platform fees.
- Multisender Enhancements: Validations have been implemented in the approve modal. Users will now be prompted with an error message if their token or fee balance is insufficient. Validation has also been added when sending tokens and the fee token is the same. The component code readability has also been improved.
- Farm Staking: The claim and withdraw functions in the list view have been fixed, and the dependencies for Moralis have also been upgraded.
- SparkSwap’s 2023 roadmap has been updated.
- SparkSwap UI-KIT: The navigation menu component has been enhanced. The target property in the navigation menu component can now be modified, and the UI-KIT version 1.4.1 has also been published.
- SparkSwap Futures: UX enhancements have been implemented for a better user experience. Ticker preference options are now unchecked by default, providing a cleaner interface for new traders. The current pair price is now added to the page title.
- Feedback Form Update: The feedback form has been updated to no longer collect or require email addresses. This change allows users to submit feedback without concerns about their personal emails or identity.
