Sorry for the lack of fiction this week, but I have been swamped with work. I’ll try to come up with some more stuff next week. However, I wouldn’t forget to add in the Sunday mech instructions. This week the chosen lucky one was the Bushwacker, one of my all-time favorites.

Although BattleTech attempts to remain somewhat grounded, one has to admit that this is not always achieved. However, in the Bushwacker, I believe the creators of this setting managed to come up with something that looks like a true futuristic war machine in a sensible, brutally simple way.

Based on an attempt to create a new medium BattleMech with a narrow profile, much like a gunship on legs, the Bushwacker never took off until the Clan Invasion, when the advanced technologies present in the Clan Toumans offered new solutions to old problems. Particularly, the Clan Vulture, with a similar narrow design, was something the manufacturer could draw inspiration from.

Entering service in the early 3050s, the Bushwacker quickly became a staple of the Federated Commonwealth armies, with the model here present being colored after the 4th Steiner Guards. A large-bore autocannon paired with a laser and missile launchers make this machine versatile and with a capable bite. It is also quick and moderately well-armored. It is made to work in a team and to being down larger foes in such a fashion.

Again, easily one of my favorites of all time, in what concerns mecha combat. Hope you enjoy it.
