7 Ways to Keep Lending a Helping Hand

Ramadan burnout is real, especially when it comes to donating. With so many charities and causes seeking help, it can be overwhelming to keep up with all the needs surrounding the Ummah. Now that half this blessed month has passed, most of us could use some motivation to keep helping those in need. Here are 7 ways to dig deep and revive the giving spirit within you.

1. Unite With One Another

What’s beautiful about Ramadan is the way Muslims comes together. From every corner of the world, there are Muslims who are looking to give back. Whether it’s your contribution, your time, or your prayers, connecting with United Muslim Relief makes Ramadan better together for us all.

2. Become a Part of a Student’s Dream

The Bayyinah Institute makes understanding the Quran a dream come true for many students like Sharmin Hakim. Join her dream journey so you can share the spiritual reward of Quran and the culinary reward of Biryani. No really, she’s got a starter kit with your name on it!

3. Plant Seeds of Knowledge

Sacred knowledge doesn’t always have to be imported from abroad. With Organic Imams, Muslim-Americans can cultivate the Islamic scholarly tradition from where it’s needed most: the local community. The Houston area is setting an example for sowing the seeds of America’s future Imams.

4. Show CAIR that You Care

The road to justice is a constant journey. Building leaders who can amplify the voice of Muslim-Americans is crucial when times get tough. Simply put, showing some love to CAIR means that you care about civil rights for not just Muslims, but all Americans.

5. Back Up An Orphan

Coming from an abusive upbringing, Karim wants to become a police officer in the future so he can address the type of violence that disrupted his upbringing. With the Orphan House Foundation, kids in Afghanistan like Karim can receive the care and compassion that they deserve.

6. Give a Bean, Get a Bean

Masjid bathrooms: we’ve all been there, but more often than not, we regret it. Fortunately, there’s a bean for that. Aquabean is on a mission to clean up the private places within our sacred spaces. Give an Aquabean to a mosque and you’ll get one for your home or when you’re traveling on the go.

7. Share How You Found Islam

Islamophobia is a legitimate concern for Muslims, but it also presents a chance to showcase the best that Islam has to offer. When tensions flare, the best response comes in the form of positive outreach. What better way to do so than by letting people know how you came to Islam? Take it from someone like Shane Atkinson who found Islam unexpectedly.
