Dragon’s Crossing is a browser-based, web3, Role-Playing Game (RPG) launching on the Arbitrum One chain sometime during May 2023.

This will be a FULL game at launch! Yes, you read it right.

In this article you will find a summary of what was discussed during Town Hall 7:

  • The Whitepaper (a.k.a. Dragonpaper) was released this week; you can find it here. The game docs will be released soon. (5:34)
  • The game docs won’t be an exhaustive encyclopedia of the game. The team wants the game to have the element of discovery. (7:43)
  • The team will release more gameplay previews before mint. (13:37)

Q: With a little under a month left before gameplay, how do you anticipate driving adoption and eyeballs to the project? (15:57)

  • We have community partners focused on developing partnerships. We also have projects coming to us for co-marketing opportunities and integrations.

Q: What’s planned after the launch other than balancing if the game is fully out after mint? (23:02)

  • Game balancing, game expansions, new seasons will have different win conditions and more to come.

Q: Do we know how many quest points we have per hero? Do they increase on level ups? (25:07)

  • Heroes will have 15 quests and they won’t increase on level ups.

Q: The game has a great design, a mixture of gains and losses. How do we keep the players at the lower end of the ranks engaged? (26:05)

  • One of the reasons is the fact that heroes can find valuable NFTs. Also, in future seasons winners will be paired with winners, and losers will be paired with losers.

Q: Do the identify and consume skill book fees in DCX for season play ADD to the total rewards at the end of the season? (27:42)

  • No, at game launch only the season entry fees determine season rewards.

Q: What are some valuable lessons you learned from previous projects and endeavors in web3 that you believe were crucial for shaping Dragon’s Crossing? (29:05)

  • Focusing on achieving sustainable tokenomics, having a fun game, having a game at launch, putting together a competent team and having the competition aspect in the game.

Q: Higher hero rarity will have a higher chance of finding NFTs. So for genesis heroes these would be summoning shards and skill books, and for rift heroes — skill books (and possible future NFTs). Is this correct? (41:04)

  • Yes, this is correct.

Q: Is there going to be one LP pool with the DCX token in the AMM on a DEX or two/more than two? (43:01)

  • We will be taking proceeds from the Genesis Hero mint and pair that with $DCX to provide initial liquidity. There will be only 1 pool originally.

Q: What will be the initial price of $DCX when creating the LP? (44:04)

  • It will depend on how the Genesis Hero mint goes. The team can’t really say what the exact price will be.

Q: There is a noticeable difference in art styles between some elements of the game. Why not make the whole game have the same art style as the Genesis Heroes? (45:32)

  • Every zone has its own aesthetic in terms of monster art. This is part of the lore of the game. Other art differences are due to having multiple artists working on the game.

Q: Could you let us know the drop rate of Summoning Shards? Will it be less than 1%? (47:16)

  • The team won’t disclose the exact drop rate but it will be less than 1%.

Q: Can you give us an example of what payouts would look like in a 100 person tournament? Do Top X people get paid out? Bottom Y lose their entry fee? (49:17)

  • Yes, it will be percentage based. The top X players will receive the most, the next X players will receive more than their entry fee but less than the ones ahead of them. This will be scaling down to a point where eventually there are people that will not break even and, in some instances, lose a majority of their entry fee.

Q: Do we know the season fee? And is the fee per wallet or per hero? (52:54)

  • The season fee hasn’t been determined yet.
  • The fee is per hero and the winnings are per hero. You can have multiple heroes earning you rewards.

Q: Just to clarify, you can only enter 1 hero per tournament? (57:25)

  • You can enter as many heroes as you want.
