For these festive times, I have decided to make a few different, ambitious things. For starters, I am releasing entire fleet builds on Warship Wednesdays based on the Halo franchise. Check those out, as the second half will drop within a few days. But for Mecha Sunday I have decided to remain within the Inner Sphere and offer you one of the largest, most powerful ‘Mechs ever — the Dire Wolf.

This was a fun one. The model itself takes a lot of cues from MechWarrior 2, which isn't surprising as that was my first contact with this beast of a ‘Mech. Massing 100 tons, carrying an impressive arsenal, and well-armored, the Dire Wolf was a shock to the Inner Sphere forces when the Clans invaded.

The Japanese-speaking warrior of the Draconis Combine called it Daishi, the Great Death. Although eventually surpassed by more advanced and even heavier models, this machine would remain one of the prime assault ‘Mechs for decades to come.

This model is simpler and uses fewer parts — 76 in total — than one would think, given it is almost 10cm tall. It stands well on its own, too. Although a 6x4 base can give it a bit more stability.

The colors I’ve chosen for this one are based on Clan Ghost Bear. Although I have a weak spot for the Sea Foxes and their rampant capitalist tendencies — having an arms dealer faction is always fun in a setting like BattleTech — the Bears are a close second among my favorite Clans.

Let me know what you think of this model and if you tried to make it yourself.
